Two audiences
Patients
Clinical studies test whether an investigational treatment is safe and whether it works, under the oversight of a research ethics board and Health Canada. Taking part is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time without it affecting your usual care. You do not need a new referral to ask about a study. If you have a condition that a current study is recruiting for, or you are already a patient of the clinic, contact the research team directly at research@dermcare.ca or 905 625 5600. The team will tell you whether a study is likely to suit you and what the next step would be.
Sponsors and CROs
DermCare brings an established patient population from a high volume referral practice, on site phototherapy and in house dermatopathology, and experience as a site on sponsored Phase 2 studies. Our capability statement sets out therapeutic areas, infrastructure and how to make contact.
Research and clinical care are kept separate
Being a patient at DermCare never obliges you to take part in research, and declining a study has no effect on the care you receive. Study participation is discussed only after you have asked about it or a physician has judged that you may be eligible and you have agreed to hear more.
